New friendships, new experiences, new beginnings. That's how we could sum up the opening of the new GymRoom branch at Jeronýmova 69/10, 130 00, Prague 3 – Žižkov. A perfect location for visitors from Karlín, Vršovice, Žižkov, and also from Prague city center.
What awaits you in the new gym?
Like at our Nusle branch, we offer complete equipment for strength training. You'll find squat racks, weight plates, kettlebells and hex dumbbells. For those who prefer aerobic exercise, we have an AirBike and a treadmill, which you'll find specifically in Žižkov. In addition, adjustable benches, plyo soft boxes, a TRX suspension system, rings, pull-up bars and various wall balls and massage aids are available for effective and versatile training.
Of course there's a locker room, shower and WC. We also thought about your comfort – you'll find hygiene amenities here, including a hairdryer and a first aid kit. And if you happen to forget your deodorant, no problem, we have a spare in the basket next to the sink.
Who is behind the GymRoom project?
The Žižkov branch was invested in by Pavla Ďuranová and Tereza Franková, who say about their vision: "We believe that women are naturally more exposed to anxiety, at least they're more often victims of bodyshaming. A crowded gym full of unwanted looks certainly doesn't help. GymRoom offers a safe space for private training where you can fully focus only on yourself. Let's change the stereotypes and fears of typical gyms."
The story of Pavla and Tereza
Pavla and Tereza are not only great friends but also inspiring women. They've been through their share and know well what it's like to fight low self-esteem and self-doubt. But they've said enough to that once and for all! They work intensively on themselves and want to be an inspiration to other women (and of course men), to show them that the path to self-confidence exists.
On Instagram they run the profile @double.trouble.czech, where they deal with topics like low self-esteem, achieving goals and toxic relationships. The aim of their project is to help women find their inner strength, self-confidence and start making decisions according to their own intuition. They are also preparing lots of other great content soon.
The girls shared tips for mental well-being:
- Set your boundaries: Learn to say "no" and take care of your time and energy. Self-confidence grows when you know what you want and can tell the world.
- Be kind to yourself: Stop comparing yourself to others and instead focus on your own progress. Every small step forward counts.
- Movement as therapy: Physical activity isn't just about the body, but also about the mind. Find a sport or exercise you enjoy and make it a regular part of your life.
- Surround yourself with a supportive community: People who support you will help you achieve your goals and boost your motivation.
- Don't be afraid to try something new: Try a new hobby, course or skill. Broadening your horizons contributes to the development of self-esteem and self-confidence.
